How can I disable "Layout" view in a fp7 file?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have an .fp7 file I want to share with another FMP user but before I send the file to them I'd like to disable certain views, such as the "Layout View," How would I go about doing that without triggering the need for a password for the other user?

I just upgraded to Developer 8 Advanced and have the runtime engines available to me but I'm thinking there is an easier way to disable that layout view, but I'll be darned if I can figure it out. I've been messing with privliges for over an hour and can't seem to get away from the password requirement.

Any help will be MOST appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

You have to create an account with limited access. In your opening script though, you can have it load up with the limited account and preinsert the password there so the user does not have to enter it. You can chagne this under

File --> File options.

Hi John,

Thanks for responding. I'll give your suggestion a try and see how it goes for me.

Over at:

Matt Petrowsky has a little training Video titled:

"Find Anywhere - A universal search dialog"

Which I think will do pretty much what you are looking to do in FMP.

However, I do believe that it's a subscribers video, so you may have to subscribe to their services to view it.
