Hi All, this has beeng bugging me for a while...and I've desperately been searching for a way to solve this, but have had no luck so far.

My problem is this, I have a database that organizes student waiting for courses that are currently full. A student waiting for a course is marked in the status field as being Idle. In the even that someone drops the course, and the student waiting for the course gets it, they have Granted entered into their status field.

When users open the database, I would like to show a layout summarizing the number of idle, granted AND red-flagged, and denied (the two other possibilities in the status field.

The layout would read something like

Idle: 2 students

Red-flagged: 5 Students

Granted: 34 Students

Denied: 3 Students

I would appreciate a very simple explanation of this as I know very little if anything about this kind of stuff.

I thank you all for your help

How are these files being accessed?

Server, Web, Peer.

I'm pretty sure the term would be peer...one user opens up the file, and all others access the shared file from that user's computer when they open it up on their own.
