[color:blue]SUMMARY OF POSITION

[color:black]To develop, implement, and support publishing and business applications using FileMaker Pro and other development tools to integrate with other existing NGS systems as necessary.

[color:blue]RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, test, document, and support publishing and business applications using the complete FileMaker Pro suite of products. Documentation includes both technical and functional documentation. Support and maintain FileMaker databases developed by others if necessary;
  
• Design, develop, integrate, test, document, and support publishing and business applications using web-based development tools and SQL;
  
• Determine and document business requirements for systems by working with various end user groups and outside vendors as needed;
  
• Train users on how to work with the delivered system and technical administrative staff on how to support the system;
  
• Install, configure, administer, and support the FileMaker Pro suite of products, other development tools, and web servers.
  

[color:blue]MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

[color:black]Bachelor's degree in computer science/information systems; Minimum 3 years developing relational database applications with FileMaker Pro; Experience with the FileMaker products, HTML, Java Server Pages, and web development tools; Experience must include relational database design

[color:blue]KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

[color:black]Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally across varying business and technical disciplines; Experience with publishing/editorial business systems preferred; Sound understanding of scripts, calculations, relational databases, and portals; Experience publishing FileMaker v 6 and 7 databases to the web using HTML and Java Server Pages; Experience configuring FileMaker Server, Web Companion and the Web Connector; Experience working with FileMaker on both a PC and a Macintosh client; Experience with a SQL-based relational databases, Microsoft IIS web server, JAVA, XML, other web and application servers and development tools; Experience writing Apple scripts.
