Heading in table view

Featured Replies

Is there a way to modify the column headings in table view?

You can add a Header Part to a Table View by going into Layout Mode, Menu to Layout, Layout Set, View, Properties, and select Header.

Thank you Lee, but that is not what I meant. I want to be able to change the column name. Right now the column name is exactly the same as the field name, which can be long, specially if it is a related field. I don't know how to customize it.

Change to Layout Mode, make your changes, and then change it back to Table View

oops

The answer is no.

I stand corrected. :)

I could have sworn that I had done this in v6. I guess this is another reason to either create a Header Part, deselect the Include Header Columns, and create the Field Names, or just create a List View.

That's a good idea - although the field labels won't adjust when columns are resized.

I guess that's why they pay us the BIG BUCKS. :giggle:

nor you will have the sorting flexibility by clicking on the columns

Well, that at least can be scripted. The bottom line is that table view is just something FMI threw in to make Excel users a bit more comfortable - it shouldn't be taken too seriously, IMHO.

I agree with comment, and that is why I usually just create a List View.
