March 2, 200619 yr hello, i have a question about how i can fill in more fields automaticly by only fillin in one field and that I can still edit the other (automaticly filled in) fields Example: 4 fields post adres, bill adres, visit adres, and storage adres. Many times these adresses are the same so i want the user to fill in the post adres and let filemaker fill in the other adresses. I can make this work 2 ways..with a inner relationship, or i make separate tables for the different adressen. My problem is when i want to edit on of the other adresses, the one filled in at first is edited as well and i don't want that. pzl help thx in advance
March 2, 200619 yr Author geez thx man, this is exactly what i was looking for... filemaker has so many option i never know where to look, haven't even been looking in this calculated field field before (imma fm n00bie) thx a lot }:(
March 2, 200619 yr Newbies Is there any way that someone can get me a copy of that demo for version 5.5...it sounds like the perfect solution to my problem as well, but since it's version 7 I can't open it. Thanks
March 5, 200619 yr All you have to do is set the other fields as autoenter, and have that first field be what is automatically entered. also, check 'do not replace existing value.' then you're set! (sidenote: i have no idea if fm 5.5 has autoenter capability, but if it does, that's what you do!)
