i am a newby and can get scripts to work but do not know how to have my database send an email from a a calc field result- 21 days before a date and or 20 hours flying time before my service comes due.Can you help please

Hi Colin, welcome.

So far, FM does not natively offer event triggers in fields (where just the act of modifying a field will result in an action being performed). There are plug-ins that accomplish this, but I have not used any. You could have a script that looks at your date field and makes this decision, but the script needs to be triggered either manually or through another script. Run a search for "event trigger" and you will find plenty of posts on this topic.

Custom functions won't really help you out in this though.
