May 11, 200619 yr Hi guys (and gals?), I've got a database with container images, being accessed via a file reference. I was wondering if any of you knew a way that I could view the current file path... How do I actually view what that file reference is? I've tried displaying the field with text using the <> string on the layout, but that didn't work. Any ideas? Thanks, Chris
May 12, 200619 yr Does this work in version 5, which is the version shown used by scrofani? Edited May 12, 200619 yr by Guest
November 28, 200619 yr Author Hahah! Thanks Is there any way to get the path without the size? Or even just the relative path, rather than the whole win/mac filesystem? Thanks, Chris
November 28, 200619 yr Relative Path, not really.. RE: The first part, yes, you can filter it out, but I'm not very aware of FM 5 functions so I'll just leave it at that.
November 28, 200619 yr Author Sorry, I'm on FMP 8.5 . . . I've tried to make that my profile default but I'm not sure how. This site is like hyperlink bukkake. Chris
November 28, 200619 yr Well, whats the result returned in the calc field look like? I forget, and can't really test at the moment RE: How to change (Go To My Profile --> Control Panel --> FileMaker questions)
November 28, 200619 yr You could use the GetValue() function to extract any individual line. See here for more.
November 28, 200619 yr Author This is what it looks like right now: size:528,1296 image:Images/Pre-Treatments/016015_2.jpg imagewin:/C:/Documents and Settings/User/Desktop/Conservation DB/Images/Pre-Treatments/016015_2.jpg Thanks for the info guys. I'll see if I can use the GetValue function to get it working!
