Copy and Paste

Featured Replies

This seems so simple, but I am obviously missing something. I need to copy a number field from one database and paste it into a releated field in another database. I set-up a script to copy the original field and the paste into the related field, but nothing is happening. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Which script is it

"Add To Image Tracker" in the Images.fp7

The script is aimed at a file not included.

Describe what you want the script to actually do.

Hi Killer,

I have a feeling that you are looking for the "Set Field" script step. In order to Copy or Paste, the field you want to perform the action on must be present and accesible on the current layout. "Set Field" does not care what is on the current layout, and is usually a much better idea.

Raz-you are right.

I am trying to set a field on another database file by a copy and paste. I want to be able to click the "add to image tracker button", copy the image number and then set the image number field in the "image tracker.fp7" file.

does that make sense?

Maybe if I had the same relationships in the files it would have worked the first time. THanks for everyones help.

I am using the set field step.

THanks
