Hi,

Can anyone suggest a good product/service/solution for code protection, licensing, activation, time or feature limited trial versions etc?

I have looked at CopyMinder, but the subscription aspects put me off - I would rather be in control!

Thanks.

Nope. Its a MAC only world out there.

Just kidding. I'm sure there must be, but in my experience the Windows development stuff cn be really expensive so I stopped looking and have started relying on mostly Unix and mac products many of which are share/free/gnu.

And yes, I used it on 2 projects so far.

Neither web based.

I tried converting the dmg file to an iso.. no luck. Maybe i'll just have to buy myself a mac. They are pretty after all, not that they're much good other than to look at. (Kidding, no mac people get aggressive at me please) :

Anyway, if thats all true ill have a look into it anyway.

Cheers,

Lets not revive the Mac vs PC arguments which seemed to have died out about 2 years ago.

Here are some choices:

ExeShield

I have my doubts about this one, since it only protects the .exe.

Ray Cologon's Nightwing. Right now it works for version 6, but he's working on v8. Whatever Ray does it alway top drawer.

FMLock This one also is interesting.

Then there's always roll-ur-own. Depends upon how much effort and time you want to put in. With version 8, its probably not bad. There's a free plugin that does RC4 encryption. Its from David McKee.

I'm also researching copy-protection and have come across Brian Dunning's Easy Encryption

http://www.briandunning.com/easy-encryption/ and InstallFactory. http://www.installfactory.com/

If anyone has experience with either, pls let me know your results.
