July 7, 200619 yr Hi everyone. How would I go about setting all my layouts to always be maximized? Sometimes, clicking back and forth on buttons will resize the screen. I've tried the 'specify button' options, but then selecting multiple factors (such as the move/resize window and go to layout) will void the first option (i.e. I wished that these would be on a check on option rather than the highlight). Any ideas?
July 7, 200619 yr Windows is not very 'resize' friendly. On the Mac this is easy. Nothing much you can do about that, I believe?
July 7, 200619 yr No way to set maximize by default. Filemaker was originally a mac program and macs do a better job of window management (for the mac guys this is not broken, so I don't see a check on option in the near future). I also work exclusively with windows and use a script to navigate, managing the window as I go. After 8 years with filemaker on windows, you just get used to it. HTH Tim
July 7, 200619 yr Why not just place a box (or lines on the Right and bottom) on the page for the size that you want the window to be. Lee
July 7, 200619 yr Author So what I'm understanding is that if I put a box in the bottom right corner of my layouts, the window will at least never be smaller than that. I'll try it out. Also, Tim W. reminds me of another question. Where do I go to learn more about scripts? I'm not even sure what they are! Edited July 7, 200619 yr by Guest
July 7, 200619 yr Try it and see what it does for you. To learn about scripts, see the Resources that are mention in the Resources Topic Area. Lee
