StarBuck99 Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Is it possible to having text flashing ... Thanks much
Genx Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 ...? You are really going to have to be more specific.
Inky Phil Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 This is not a feature that is available in Filemaker nor have I seen any work arounds for it Phil
Genx Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Im not sure why you would want to make a text box flash anyway.
Inky Phil Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 (edited) To annoy people. Sorry I meant everyone Phil :( Edited August 10, 2006 by Guest
StarBuck99 Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 Thx Phil & Genx for your reply, i guest "Flashing Text" is not a feature in FM. I just wish to have text flashing to remind user on certain screen to assist them goto specific open field , since fields of that screen mostly restricted, that's all.
Lee Smith Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Set your Tab order to go to only those fields. Lee
Inky Phil Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Starbuck As a matter of course I make it obvious, by design, which fields are display fields and which fields are entry fields. Slight changes in the shade of colour used as the fill for a field can make it intuitive for a user to know what is going on on a layout. You can also highlight an input field with a different coloured border but I have restricted this to an absolute minimum as I have not yet found a combination of background/field fill and border colour that wasn't a bit 'in yer face' as they say. Good use of colours and layout combined with and Lee's tip about the tab order will get you the result that you want without upsetting any epilectic users you might have HTH Phil
Genx Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Shade aswell - i'll indicate fields that can't be entered by using a slight grey shade... or otherwise, i'll use a merge field.
