An excellent part-time FileMaker opportunity has just become available at ABC Sydney (Ultimo). Content Services is responsible for managing the ABC’s extensive and unique audio visual collection. In this position you will work with solutions ranging in size and complexity from small single user run-time solutions, to huge mission-critical multi-user databases shared with users in capital cities around Australia;. You’ll be using the latest versions of FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Pro Advanced and FileMaker Server Advanced running on Windows 2000 and XP.

Apart from the core duties of managing the existing FileMaker Servers and hosted databases, there are opportunities to improve and develop yourself and your skills. Plus the bonus of rubbing shoulders daily with media personalities in the lifts and corridors.

You’ll need experience working in FMP 6.0 and FMP 8.0, migrating solutions and hosting them with FMS 5.5 and FMSA 8.0. Knowledge of Instant Web Publishing is required; any custom web publishing skills with FMSA 8.0 are an advantage.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation is seeking an experienced Filemaker developer to work part-time (3 days per week) in their Content Services area for a period of 4 months, with the strong possibility that the position will be extended beyond this timeframe. The position is based at the ABC in Harris Street Ultimo and is available for immediate start.

Content Services is responsible for the management of the ABC's extensive and unique collection of audio visual material. Filemaker is used by Content Services as the platform for a number of the ABC's content databases, as well as providing support for business processes within Content Services. Working as part of a small team and reporting to the Manager for Systems Development, you will be responsible for the day-to-day support and maintenance of FileMaker databases implemented in Content Services. In addition, you will be required to make coding changes to the databases on an as needs basis in response to business process changes in Content Services.

It is essential that you have experience developing databases with FMP 6.0 and FMP 8.x; managing FileMaker Server 5.5 and FMSA 8.0; creating interfaces with Instant Web Publishing. Any custom web publishing skills are very desirable.

Salary will be paid on an hourly rate based on the equivalent FTE of $60,131 per annum. Paid annual leave and sick leave is provided. The position requires that you work the equivalent of 45.60 hours (6 days) per fortnight, with the flexibility to nominate preferred working days between Monday to Friday.
