Newbies ChrisYip Posted August 3, 2000 Newbies Posted August 3, 2000 Hi all, Was wondering if there was a way to have multiple databases linked to a common Web page. What we have is a set of 5 instrument scheduling databases (instrument -> day -> hours) and what I'd like to have is one "view-only" form that shows the user what machines are available and when.. (i.e. on Tues, here's the schedule for instrument 1 - 5). But I'd like to do this without having the user navigate through a pile of different pages.... Thanks
yafreax Posted August 4, 2000 Posted August 4, 2000 if you are using a web publishing tool (i.e. - claris home page) you can just create the page with frames, one displaying one db-layout the other displaying a different one. If your just using the web companion, i'm pretty sure you cant do that. (i'm wrong every now and then though) Just Postin' Jeremy
Newbies ChrisYip Posted August 5, 2000 Author Newbies Posted August 5, 2000 [ Excellent that's just what I was thinking of doing - use Web Companion to make up the individual pages that would then pop up in a frame, referenced by a side bar link.. Thanks Chris.
Newbies ChrisYip Posted August 7, 2000 Author Newbies Posted August 7, 2000 Got something to work - I decided to not use frames and just pasted in 3 FM Forms and used that to navigate (you can find the example at the following: http://cyclops.ibme.utoronto.ca:591/choosesys.htm
RoadBear Posted August 8, 2000 Posted August 8, 2000 The two ways are... db Portals... Web Frames. Probably portals are the best way for you....
