D.M. Wrider Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I have a database set up to keep track of customers. Each customer has a unique ID number (automatically assigned). The problem: Customer A's ID is 128 Customer B's ID is 1287 When searching for Customer A by ID number 128, both records are found instead of just the one. (This creates a problem when trying to pull up one customer's purchase records, which incorperates their ID.) Is there something about the ID field itself that needs to be changed? It's not a huge problem, but it gets more irritating the more ID numbers that are added. Any tips?
Fitch Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Make the field a number field instead of text and you'll get the results you expect. This also affects the way the IDs will sort.
