tmas73 Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Hi there I need some guidance in field lookups and auto fill. I have a passenger layout that has different frequent flier miles and password in it. in a different layout I have a name field that should display the name of the pasenger a option to choose flier miles and then after it was chosen it should automatically fill in the password in the password field. Please have a look at the file. Thanks a lot! TMAS fields.fp7.zip
tmas73 Posted November 9, 2006 Author Posted November 9, 2006 Ok I made some small progress I got the info from one layout to the other. If you look at the new file it shows a example but the 2nd row will not enter the info from the other field. Any help please? Thomas fields2.fp7.zip
mr_vodka Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Thomas, I believe that there were some serious design flaws in your sample. I made a sample file of what I thought would be a good starting point for you. Take a look at it and dissect it for your own learning tool. Good luck. field_revamped.zip
tmas73 Posted November 9, 2006 Author Posted November 9, 2006 Thanks for the file looks like you enjoied working on it. I will study it and I'm sure it helps a lot. Thanks Thomas
tmas73 Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 Hi Mr. vodka I was looking through your file for the last few hours and I try to replicate it. I ran into a error. I do wonder if there is a way that in "flight_info" that when you choose a different airline the ff miles, password and miles automatically update to the specific airline chosen. Thanks Thomas
mr_vodka Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Why would a flight ever change its airline?
tmas73 Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 Maybe I did not explain to well. Now if I choose the airline the passengers have a different miles number. See image. Thanks for your help!
mr_vodka Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 (edited) I think that each flight should have its own set of passengers and basically in layman's terms make a "copy" of what is in the ff table for that particular customer at that time. I do not think that this should be a reference but rather a stored value. Again, my question to you is: Why would you change an airline??? The flight number for a particular airline should be set PRIOR to any passengers being placed on board. After you select the airline, and put passengers on there, you shouldnt be changing the company name. Edited November 10, 2006 by Guest Unnecessary text
