raouls Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I have attached a file that I am making (or trying to). I know what I want to do but haven't got my "missing manual" in the mail yet. I want to have three tabs that show fields that are specific to the order status. For example when I go to master list tab, there will be all fields. When I go to the current orders tab, it will show the first 20 fields from left to right, but not the four to the far right. In the shipped tab, there will be the first ten and only the last four. How do I specify the layering (photoshop-style didn't quite work)? How do I make it so that the tab background extends down as I create a new record (CTRL + N)? FM.zip
Leb i Sol Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 create your layouts ahead of time with all the fields that you need... copy the 'master layout' with all the fields on it and then delete the fields that your do not want to be shown. All the best!
aldipalo Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Also, I do not believe you can use Tabs on a List View, but you can on a portal view. If I am wrong someone please correct me. HTH
raouls Posted November 13, 2006 Author Posted November 13, 2006 Really, no tabs with list view? That is something that really changes things. We use the list view as our working file and if that is not possible I will use some buttons to change the layout, any other thoughts?
comment Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I don't see why not - though it takes a bit of work to set up. Note: the attached requires version 8.5 (but it COULD be done in 8 as well). ListTab.fp7.zip
aldipalo Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Very neat. But, without the extra work will tabs work in list view? I tried it straight up and couldn't get it to work.
comment Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Oh, they WILL work - but I am not sure you'll like the WAY they work.
