How to mark a record

I am adding records to a database and want to mark some records as incomplete, so I can easily identify the ones I need to update. How can I easily do this?

Thanks,[color:red]

Define a new field for this purpose, maybe call it Status or something. Then define a value list with the possible Status choices. Then in the field's options you can set it to use the new value list as a pop-up list or whatever.

Another way to approach this is to use Date fields to indicate when something was done, and have a Status calculation derived from those Dates. For example, you might have a Date Started and Date Completed, giving three (at least) possible Statuses, determined by:

Status (calculation, text result) = case(isempty(Date Started) and isempty(Date Completed); "Not Started"; isempty(Date Completed); "Incomplete"; "Completed")

This way, you can retain information about when things were done, but also search for records with a given Status.

II would create a field and call it Mark or something then use a script to mark the records as a found set:

Create a script with the following steps:

Enter Browse Mode

Go to Layout [ YourLayout ]

Go to Record/Request/Page

[ First ]

Loop

Set Field [ Mark, "Incomplete" ]

Go to Record/Request/Page

[ Next, Exit after last ]

End Loop
