joeboldt Posted June 26, 2001 Posted June 26, 2001 I am running a webstar server and am just starting to publishing a fmpro database. Am I better off running only the filemaker specific pages through web companion or should I just send it all through?
Anatoli Posted June 27, 2001 Posted June 27, 2001 That is what I am doing and it is very fast. Unlimited only serves pages with data from db. Static HTML and pictures are served from main browser, in my case IIS.
iBib Posted June 27, 2001 Posted June 27, 2001 Yea, listen to Anatoli! It's always recommended to split up your serving capabilities on different machines. One webserver and one fmp-server, this makes the sites much faster. And make sure that all content that is static stays on the webserver so that Filemaker don't have to deal with it.
scratchmalogicalwax Posted June 27, 2001 Posted June 27, 2001 The ideal solution for WebSTAR is Lasso WDE Plugin for WebSTAR.
joeboldt Posted July 2, 2001 Author Posted July 2, 2001 Thanks everyone for the info. I'd get lasso but I'm on a budget and I think cdml should be adequate. Thanks Joe
