I am trying to convert my list views to tables to be more usable. Everything is working well except I used to have a button on each line to allow the user to just to a form view. Anyone have an idea how to display a button PER LINE in table view? I have one on the header, but my users are complaining they want the one on the line back. :

You will have to add a Header Part then, and put your button there. I have often used a toggle button on both views that if it was in Form view it would go to Table View, or back.

Think they will have to just complain unless you put some graft in and fake the table view (although they will loose functionality) and they would probably complain about that too.

I always tell people the table is purely to allow them to customise and print a report and has nothing to do with editing.

I also stop access to fields or use calculated results so they do not feel like it is a form.

Users will always complain about something unless they are told they are using it incorrectly in my experience.

"Its just a report" I say

"Oh of course" they say

"Its great though, huh... you have so much control... you can even sort the columns... try doing that in excel!" i say

"yes its wonderful, they say.

Job done

The world isnt perfect if you dont understand it.

The problem is that table view will not allow a script to fire in a row so you simply can't have buttons on the row; well you could ... but they wouldn't DO anything. :crazy2:

Hi LaRetta,

I would like to see one of those none working buttons, I have never been able to even get that far. Unless you are using a field as the button.

Hi Edward,

Why not create a list view.
