RT Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Hello, i have just changed a layout from repeating fields to a join table with a portal, all works well as you can see by the demo.it adds the line items up. or advise me if there is a better way. but i want to "sum" the total of all records, i have tried calc fields summarys but nothing works for me, and i cannot work it out. can some one please take a look and tell me where i am going wrong thank you. mr_vodka Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 If you create a new Cartesian 'X' relationship then you can reference the Summary field or sum it for the total of all the child records.

The problem you discover with related summaries is that they won't freshen when ever you alter something in a portalline, and in order to give the right figures must a button issue a: http://www.filemaker.com/help/ScriptsRef-269.html I write this to pursuade you to use the ...fresh version of the templates attached.
