My last FileMaker web project was back in 2000 and it involved using CDML.

What is today's version of CDML and what is a good book on the subject?

Do I need to have the server version or will 8.5 Advanced suffice?

I am trying to web-enable a database without using Instant Web Publishing.

CDML is no longer supported post FM6. Custom Web Publishing can be done via XML / XSL. You will need FileMaker Server Advanced to do Custom Web Publishing.

FM Webschool posted a few days ago on here that he had a solution to use CDML code with the newer version of FileMaker for those that were comfortable usiing CDML. Here is the link to the post.

FileMaker stopped supporting CDML with FileMaker 6. We have created BlackBelt to enable FileMaker users to be able to continue using FileMaker with FileMaker 7 and 8 :
