Scripting the placement of fields

Hi all

A picture is worth a thousand words, so I have attached a sample file to explain what I would like to do.

Thans in advance

Hi Lionel,

There is no "direct" way of moving the field. It might be able to be done with some trickery.

How many of these symbols will there be?

Will more be added often?

..... so I have attached a sample

Me too !

Hi The Big Bear !

I am not completely clear what you want to do with the symbols later but I suggest you put a grid of repeating fields on top of your Symbol container.

Than you can set the corresponding fields with the text to the desired location,

You should make Your symbols a little more “symmetric” to the grid so the text is more alined.

just as an idea because I am not aware of any dynamic placement of fields on a layout in FMP

Thanks for the reply

I will try to make the weld symbol more uniform for placment of the fields. But the configuration of the weld symbol would make some of the fields to be replaced as the symbol is changed.

Example

the single bevel: one showns the arrow side and the other showns the other side to be prepared for welding. The symbols are mirror image of each other so the fields would have to be also. It there a way of preforming this.

Tanks

Lionel
