Project Manager - CA

We are a full-service consulting firm, our teams help define efficient workflow processes, analyze deployment strategies, and provide a common-sense perspective on helping solve data system challenges. We specialize in custom development of databases, workgroup applications, Web solutions, and knowledge management processes for our clients. We provide services to a diverse group of clients, including Boeing, FileMaker, Inc., and Apple.

Responsibilities:

The Project Manager is the primary relationship manager with the customer, including establishing the scope of the project; assembling and updating the project budgets as the project progresses; assigning resources to the project; and keeping the customer involved and informed. Key Responsibilities include:

  • - Track project progress against stated objectives and to report to the customer and to the development team on project progress.
    - Maintain Tracker records for the project, establishing budgets for dollars and hours, establishing components, tasks, and communicating the intended use for these elements.
    - Request, prepare, and issue all invoices.
    - Find and manage adequate resources to assign to the project to maintain the project on its stated timelines and business objectives.
    - Keep customers informed of progress.
    - Follow-up on marketing leads developed by others.
    - Work with new and existing customers to effectively gather and document project requirements.

Experience & Abilities Required:

  • - Strong organizational skills.
    - Experience running and documenting effective meetings.
    - Ability to listen to problems, analyze information, and then make appropriate recommendations to clients.
    - Understanding of the software development process – as appropriate for the size and range of projects.
    - Strong computer skills – MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, MS PowerPoint.
    - FileMaker Pro, SQL, or PHP familiarity.
    - Experience with managing (medium to large) multi-person, multi-disciplinary teams.
    - Experience working on custom development projects.
    - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong presentation skills.
    - Experience and desire to work within a small company.
    - Ability to meet with customers to gather and document project requirements and put together proposals that define the technical solutions, budgets, and timelines necessary to meet client requirements.
    - In-depth understanding of workflow, flow charts, and use cases, including how to use them effectively to define the project requirements.
    - Experience and understanding of the estimating process – ability to track progress against a fixed budget.
