March 29, 200718 yr Hi, I want to make a custom search page that links back to Filemaker on my PC at home. I'll make it clear that I don not want to use Filemaker Server. (at least not for now). I know of a website that is currently using a custom template to access their database (about 20,000 pages).[color:red]HERE IS THE LINK (select CHINA on the left column for a good example). Mine will be about 3,000 pages but with a very similar layout and results section. What would be the best approach for this? And is there any online guides recommended? March 29, 200718 yr If you actually want to use this within an IWP based database, it's fairly easy... If however you want to embed this into an actual website, it's not possible without FileMaker Server Advanced (though you can get hosting for fairly cheap).

Yea I'm gonna go with hosting at home until I'm able to use FMServer. I just did some hunting and found a nice online guide (I think)[color:red]fm7_instant_web_pub.pdf.. My database is huge and there are thousands of possible result pages (already in the database) so I hope the guide is ok.. Edited March 29, 200718 yr by Guest
March 29, 200718 yr Author I was just reading an article about FM Pro - is it true that only 5 people can use the database at a time? I wanted to use this for a business where 100's of people would be accessing it online(hopefully )
March 29, 200718 yr FileMaker Server Advanced allows 100 IWP sessions at any one time and 100 CWP sessions at any time. Edited March 30, 200718 yr by Guest Sorry it's 100 WPE sessions, 250 ODBC/JDBC
March 29, 200718 yr Author FileMaker server allows 100 IWP sessions at any one time and 250 CWP sessions at any time. And how many if I'm running the non-server version from a home PC to the WWW?
March 29, 200718 yr I wanted to use this for a business where 100's of people would be accessing it online FMP was not designed to handle this kind of traffic. You should use Server or Server Advanced.
