rebeccaatemc Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 The database system that I created just went live in my office. I have gotten many requests for something resembling a browser's back button. Users want to be able to revisit their previous screens without have to go through their initial navigational process. Is there a simple way to set this up? Thanks.
Genx Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Might also want to take a look at this sample file: http://fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/183766/post/236519/hl// Its a bit more basic but also a lot more straight forward.
shawnj985 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Hi all Does anyone of these solutions address the issue of using a back button to go from one file/layout to another or is it just within a single file?
Genx Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Not directly no... but i'm not sure I understand your question -- If you're referring to differing windows, I'm sure this would be possible fairly easily but then there's the case of if the windows been shut, should it be re-opened etc. etc. Could you be a bit more detailed?
shawnj985 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I would like to go to a layout in a different file then using a "Go back" button on that layout, return to my original one.
Genx Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Well different file implies different window doesn't it? Here's a scenario... Your in a contacts file You click on a related record and it opens up your documents file in a new window What happens when you press the back button... Does it close the window you opened or simply navigate back? What happens if you closed your contacts window?
