Web Connector. What's the point?

Featured Replies

I am using Web connector to connect a web site to an fmp companion server and fail to see the point if I still need to store all the html om the companion server. What is the benefit of Web Connector?

You can load the WC with data from 5 pcs of FM Unlimited connected to server.

That will be very fast TPS.

You do not have to use port 591.

You can have SSL on "main" server...

Only the CDML files have to be placed on your FMPro Server. Static HTML and images can be left on the WebStar Server. FMPro WebCompanion creates its HTML files without images, they are still provided by WebStar.

Sure with absolute links you can link anything on web to your page. That way you will get better performance, because the processing Power and bandwidth is going from something else.
