Hi,

I was wondering if there are some good tutorials or any one that can help me with importing data from my MYSQL database into Filemaker 8 Pro?

I was thinking of buying http://www.actualtechnologies.com/products.php

But I'm wondering, do I have to install this ODBC driver on every clients machine on just on my Filemaker Server machine?

I believe that you do need to install the drivers on each machine.

I've been using the Actual MSSQL and MySQL drivers for over a year and can highly recommend them.

As far as the client/server install goes, do you need to do the import on all the clients machines?

Often the easiest way is to put a client FM on the server and let that do all the importing.

One thing to look forward to, is FM9, as this has the ability to use an external ODBC source as a table inside the database, so allowing a direct live link to the source.

...or so it is rumored... :P
