I've currently running Filemaker server and I've put several image databases online. The images are located in the apache webserver folder. The problem is that these image folders are getting too big and I have no room left on the harddisk of the server.

I came up with what I tought was a simple solution... but it didn't work....

I've attached an external disk, put the hires on there and put an alias to the file in the webserver folder. But when I surf to the sites the images don't appear. Does anyone have a solution so that I can use this external drive....

um... can you create a symbolic link vs alias?

what are your permissions on the other volume?
