Greg Hains Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Hi. I have 2 report pages (Browse;List) that look almost identical other than one has a Footer and the other does not. In the body of both these pages I have a list of records, and on the footer of the second layout I have details of the record. On the header I have a button that Hides or Shows this record detail, and it just switches between the two layouts. Rather than having two layouts, is it possible to view/hide the footer on the layout, or do I just leave it the way it is. Its just that if I make changes to the layout (database still in development) I have to make them to two layouts rather than one. Anybody got any ideas please? Greg
mr_vodka Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 You can use invisible tabs. Name each tab an object name. Then you can switch back and forth using go to object.
Greg Hains Posted June 18, 2007 Author Posted June 18, 2007 Hi John. Thanks for this reply. I understand about naming tabs and Going To them etc, but how do I make them invisible per se? Is it a setting in the tab itself, or a trick with using colors and graphics to hide them? Greg
m.v.peabody Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Hi Greg, Without wanting to step on John's toes, I think I may be up before him today, and you're on. Just use the pattern area next to the FMP color pallette, and ascribe no color (the "two white squares" choice in the upper left) to the tab and "none" to the outline (or frame). Matt shows this at the end of this video .
mr_vodka Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Yes, you can hide the tab lines as he said. However, this does not stop the user from clicking in the tabs itself. Check out the technique in this file to see how to cover up the tabs so that the users can not click it directly. Covering Tabs
