Can not login to FMS8A Web Publishing Administration Console

Featured Replies

I am trying to setup our FMS8A on a new computer but for some reason I can not log into the Web Publishing Administration Console via the web browser.

When I go to http://localhost/fmi/config I can see the log in page but my user name and password do not work.

I have logged into the server and changed the username and passcode several times but it is still not letting me in.

Remove everything and do a reinstall.

Yes, removing and reinstalling did the trick.

Thanks.

Hello,

I am having the same problem. When you say "everything", do you mean the whole Server application ?? Or can you do just the web part?

Thanks in advance...

You do not need to "Remove Everything" to fix this, just the configuration files for the Web Publishing Engine.

On windows they are located at: C:Program FilesFileMakerFileMaker ServerWeb Publishingconf

On Mac they are located at: Mac HD:LibraryFileMaker ServerWeb PublishingConf

Delete all the files in the conf folder, and then go back to the localhost page and you will need to re-configure the web publishing engine again.

If you do want to follow the "remove everything" advice, you only need to uninstall the Web Publishing Engine.

This is correct. But be sure that ALL the services/daemons are stopped beforehand. THis includes the Helper and all Web Services. I also stop the Web Server (IIS or Apache) if this is the one-machine configuration.

After deletion of the files, reboot the machine.
