color in words of Value list

Featured Replies

[color:black]I have a value list of colors:

RED

orange

yellow

green

blue

violet

White

Black

Pink

Tan

I would like the colors to appear in a menu like below from a value list

[color:red]RED

[color:orange]Orange

[color:yellow]yellow

[color:green]green

[color:blue]blue

[color:purple]violet

[color:black]etc

[color:black]How is this done. I am not sure if I can make different color words in a value list for a drop down menu

Thanks

Dave

Mine are Blue, cuz it's my favorite color.

Did I miss something?

Edit: Ok now there is more info....lol. I'm not sure tbh. I just tried it on a Related List and it seems to lose the formatting when viewed in the Drop Down.

You can do this, but it requires you to hard code the colors for the value list.

I attached a quick example of this.

Thanks Lee. I checked out the file because I'm always up for learning new stuff.

But I think he wants the text in the drop down to be Colored.

You are probably right, but than, AFAIK that can't be done. Only the One color as you indicated (i.e. blue) ;)

Kinda odd that Valuelists lose text formatting but portals don't. That is why my first thought was a related valuelist.

Guess if he isn't pressed for space on the layout and doesn't have too many colors he could make a portal with a button in each row setting the other field. But that seems pretty MickeyMouse.
