script sound recording to container?

I would like to put a recording button and a playback button in a layout. I would like scripts to "record" a sound into a container and a script to play the sound back. Can a record be scripted somehow?

I think you are out of luck with your recording request. There may be a plugin out there that will facilitate this though.

Perhaps some kind of applescript can be used? If both a plugin or applescript is not an option, then you may have to live with clicking two buttons to record.
