Newbies deadandgone Posted August 24, 2001 Newbies Posted August 24, 2001 I am trying to create a database so that when customers have purchased products they can fill there name and address and the equipment that they have purchased along with serial numbers into the form... Right the problem I am having is say a customer purchases 5 items I cant get it from the web page and into a repeating field which is on the database it only goes into the first line of the field not on the second or other lines if anyone can help please TIA
LiveOak Posted August 24, 2001 Posted August 24, 2001 Lose the repeating field and use a separate related file to store the items. The only downside is that they may have to submit each item on a separate screen. The list of problem people have when they get stuck using repeating fields fill volumes. They have VERY limited application in relational FM. -bd
Newbies deadandgone Posted August 24, 2001 Author Newbies Posted August 24, 2001 Thanks LiveOak, I think I've gotten around it anyways I got rid of the repeating fields and replaced it with a simple large field and on the web page set text fields so the customer enters the product on each line and it seems to save it fine on the database on seperate lines of the large field...
