I am TOTALLY baffled here! I have a forms db with a portal in a layout showing list of drivers. This portal WORKED FINE initially when I set it up several months ago. All of the sudden, it only shows the first record (portal=show 10 rows).

So, I created new layout, copied and pasted the portal to the new layout, and it WORKS FINE.

I RE-copied it to the original layout and it DOES NOT WORK! ARRRRRGH!

What happened? Please explain the error of my ways...

Well, portals use a relationship from one table occurence to another. The layout is based on one of the TO's and the portal the other.

So, what is the TO that your layout is based on, and what is the TO that the portal uses? Are you using the correct TOs?

The information comes from my main db "Customers". Each customer has a list of drivers.

I have a second db "Forms" The relationship to second db is via the "CustID".

In the Forms db, I created a portal (show 10 rows)on layout 1 via relationship "CustID". Initially, it showed all drivers. As of today, it only shows the FIRST driver.

I copied the portal to layout 2 (still in Forms db). It shows ALL the drivers. So, I re-copied it back to layout 1, and it only shows the FIRST driver again.

In reference to your question about the TO, both layouts in the forms db reference the same TO.

OK. Permit me to restate what you've said in the correct Filemaker terms, just so there's no confusion.

You have two tables: Customers and Forms. They are related by CustomerID. Where are the "drivers" located? In the Customers table? Why isn't there a Drivers table? What's the difference between customers and drivers?

Are the fields completely contained in the portal row? If not, they will only show the first record. make sure in your layout that the size of the field hasn't "grown" to be outside the table row.

Sorry, if I'm way off base and being too simplistic.
