bnix Posted January 20, 2002 Posted January 20, 2002 My CHP3 keeps removing "" aroud stuff. I type in <INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="-op" VALUE=eq> <INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="SchoolCode" VALUE="[FMP-Clientpassword]"></P> and get <INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="-op" VALUE=eq> <INPUT TYPE=hidden NAME=SchoolCode VALUE="[FMP-Clientpassword]"></P> after I save or switch from code view to other views and back again. Is this ok or is their a switch somewhere I need to toggle. I also tried notepad to make the changes and when I open in CHP3 the quotes show missing again.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted January 20, 2002 Posted January 20, 2002 Claris Home Page, Version 3. It is the CDML authoring tool. It has a number of issues with versions 5 and 5.5. It is no longer offered or supported by FMI. HTH Old Advance Man
Keith M. Davie Posted January 20, 2002 Posted January 20, 2002 First thought is Preference file corruption. Happens a lot to a lot of apps. Remove the Preference file to another folder. Following a restart that Preference file should be reconstructed. If it is, then you can trash the old Pref. file. HTH
bnix Posted January 21, 2002 Author Posted January 21, 2002 Do you recommend not to us CHP3? It is so easy to make a web site in 20 or 30 minutes with chp3. What are some of the issues with 5.5 and chp3? Thanks
Keith M. Davie Posted January 21, 2002 Posted January 21, 2002 I realize your question is directed more at OAM who raised the idea of issues with FMP 5+, but my two cents worth is I've never used an html editor. I write basically in html and have used very little JavaScript (on purpose). I feel comfortable working that way. If you are comfortable with html editors, then you might want to investigate other editors for support of FMPro solutuions. I have seen reference to DreamWeaver but have no experience with it either. By having a fairly good understanding of html I find I can trouble shoot my problems fairly easily. Also, there is not a lot of extraneous text to muddle through.
Anatoli Posted January 21, 2002 Posted January 21, 2002 Never used that beast. Didn't worked with Central Europe HTML coding. And I am guessing all that non-existent security in FM/WC is just because the dreaded CHP software.
bnix Posted January 21, 2002 Author Posted January 21, 2002 With CHP3 you can have a basic site in 5-10 minutes with all the forms created for you, ready to edit. I suggest all try it to save time. You specify which field to have check boxes, drop down menu easy. Then you add the forms and make modifications as needed.
