Job Title On-Site FileMaker Pro Developer (Part-Time)

Location Oakland, CA 94601. This is an in-house position – no long-distance or offshore applications, please.

Compensation $50/hour, 20 hours/week, flexible hours, on a contract basis. Depending on fit with agency and the future directions the agency goes with the database, this could become a part-time salaried position with benefits.

Program Description:

WestCoast Children’s Clinic is an established nonprofit community-based mental health clinic, specialized in providing services to vulnerable children, youth and their families in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, regardless of their ability to pay. We are particularly committed to helping children in the social services and foster care systems, and work with a culturally diverse population.

Position Description:

The FileMaker Pro Developer will work closely with the IT Director to assist with ongoing development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a complex FileMaker Pro database used by the agency for clinical documentation, client tracking, billing, and management reporting. Work will be focused on implementing new features as specified by the IT Director, and debugging and improving existing features as needed. May involve some end user support.

Duties Include:

• Development of new database features, including layouts, scripting and relational design, under supervision of the IT Director.

• Testing existing reports and features for data integrity, validity and efficiency.

• Troubleshoot database problems based on staff bug reports.

• Preparation and implementation of conversion of solution from FileMaker v. 6.5 to v.9.0.

Position Qualifications:

• Commitment to the clinic’s mission and population.

• Nonprofit experience a plus.

• 2+ years of experience in core FileMaker functions of scripting, layout design, reporting, and relational design.

• Familiarity with maintaining complex server-based solutions in FileMaker Pro v6.5 in a mixed platform environment.

• Familiarity with conversion of v.6 FileMaker Pro databases to v.7 and above.

• Must be able to provide samples of past Filemaker work to demonstrate abilities.

• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
