Whoa! Big Problem!

I wanted to merge several databases into one large database. I created the new one. I imported these other databases from the Define Database screen, and I lost all my formatting and everything!

Help!

We need more information about what you SPECIFICALLY did. Copy/Paste databases ito Define Database? Import database? Export as mer or csv and import? What? How is the data coming in? Simply not enough information ...

Usually, you would create one set of fields with the proper formatting then import the data from the various tables, files or merge/csv/text documents into it.

I created a New Database. In the "Manage Database" window I went to the Tables Tab. Then I clicked Import. Then I selected a previously created database--a separate file I had made earlier.

However, when I went to that particular Table, all the layouts but one were gone, none of the formatting was there, and none of the records or info was there.

I think from that you might understand what I'm trying to do--merge files/databases.

You cannot bring the layouts and scripts with you. You'll need to manually copy/import them in. Records will need to be imported.

But you should have the field definitions just fine, right?
