Hello everyone...

I have a client that is using FMP5 Pro hosted file for web companion to view records on the web.

My question is, they have a directory listing that shows all records (currently 2000) and they have a next page and previous page. Going backwards and forwards 20 records at a time is crazy.

Does anyone know of a better way to handle this, maybe an (A B C D, etc bar at the top and find all records with a name that starts with the letter they click) or maybe a Pages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc so at least they can get closed to the record then do a next or previous.)

I am open to any suggestions.

P.S. Please do not suggest upgrading to FM9 or something else, as this is not a solution to my issue.

You could look at viewing the records through a portal which will allow you to view more than 20 records.

I would still look at filtering the portal using A, B, C etc so that you are not trying to scroll through all of the records.

More than a dozen related records *really* slows everything down. There was a reason for the record limit. ;(
