It seems very easy to put a script or a group of script into a group (I did this by mistake) - but how do you take them out?

Is this a trick question?

I just drag them out. You need drag it past something in the Top Level though.

No trick question. Sometimes a group of scripts will NOT drag to the left. When one tries, they jump to the right instead of the left. Select all scripts in ScriptMaker. Copy them. Delete them. Then re-paste them back. On Windows, it will then work as expected. ^)

I *believe* it happens when using the same file on a Mac and Windows system but I have yet to verify exactly how/when it happens. But I can verify that it DOES wonk out in this way sometimes.

Could it be because I also messed with them in 8.5? Anyway, I just dragged all the scripts out, deleted the empty groups and created new ones. Now it works as expected. Your method would have been less work, but I didn't have the guts to delete them.
