I have a database in which I keep track of medication of patients that are in our system. I have 4 columns (Medication Name, Dosage, Route, and Freqency) each with 45 repetitions. They are lined up next to each other so as to look like a chart. We enter the information manually from a hard copy that we receive at admission.

We show a portion of this list on a cover sheet and if there are more than 11 medications a button will appear that says to look at an addendum (continuation of the medication list) that will list the medications that do not fit on the cover sheet.

I have calculating fields set up to check if there is any information on repetition 12 through 45 (very time consuming, but the best idea I could come up with). If one is not empty, then the button to see the addendum appears.

What I want to do is create a button that will delete an entire row (ie. deleting a medication and its info from a chart) and then having the list reposition the medications so it is a continuous list. I want to be able to delete a row and then have the information below it move up one row (similar to deleting a row in excel and all of the rows move up). I created a button that would delete the row, but it ended up deleting that row in the entire database.

Can anyone help with any ideas?

Thanks.

...and BTW is it about time you use relational approaches!

I strongly agree with Soren - relational would make your life soooooo much easier. When you are ready to consider a re-write, let us all know and we can show you easier ways. Once you go relational, you'll never go back. :wink2:
