Leather Knight Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 Ok, I have a number of databases linked. After I navigate to one from another, the screen flickers/flashes. Is there a way to do the navigating smoother so it looks better?
Lee Smith Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 This subject has come up in the past. A search for your Keywords should provide you with plenty on this topic. Some flicker is necessary when moving between layouts, to layout (file to file), etc., because FileMaker has to redraw the screen. Some of the movement you describe may be unnecessary, and a change in your approach of what you are trying to accomplish might help to minimize it. Why not describe what you are trying to accomplish, instead of the symptoms. Lee
Leather Knight Posted January 18, 2008 Author Posted January 18, 2008 Thx Lee, Yeah I did a search, but couldn't find the answer. I have 10 different fp7's and when moving from one to another without closing the previous, it flashes. If I have the main menu open up without opening the others, it does this. If I have it open them up at startup, it flashes crazily at startup.
Lee Smith Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Try using the Freeze Window Script Step in your script that opens them all in the beginning. Lee
darkalfa Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I have the same problem. Did the freeze window step solved the problem to you? :
darkalfa Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Freeze doesn't work. As soon as i navigate from one database to another, flashing windows still coming. :
Newbies Aaron Green Posted October 24, 2008 Newbies Posted October 24, 2008 if you are using Windows, try right clicking on your desktop, selecting properties and turning off windows minimize/maximize animations under the effects tab. (outside of filemaker)
