February 21, 200817 yr Howdy, all: I built a simple script that imports the records from an old .fp7 file into a newer one, but with every import script instruction I have to manually enter the old file's password to gain access to the data. This is fine if there were only one table, but there are eight tables' worth of data so I have to enter the old file's password eight times as the import script progresses from one import record instruction to the next. (...and yes, I have the "Perform without dialog" box checked.) So, my question is, is there a way to import all eight tables' worth of data in one shot so the password only has to be entered once? Or, is there a better way of importing the data with less fuss? TIA for your help! Rich
February 21, 200817 yr Perhaps you can have your script open up the importee file and Relogin with an admin account.
February 21, 200817 yr Author "D'oh!" Why didn't I think of that. Great suggestion--I'll give it a try. *Follow-up* Well, I tried it but FileMaker didn't like it: I was still required to enter the password info. I tried changing the order of the script instructions, but that didn't seem to help. More suggestions? Edited February 21, 200817 yr by Guest
March 13, 200817 yr I am having the same problem… Did you find a solution? If so what was it? Also I am building my Database into a Runtime App. The help file is very limited with information in this area and I am diligently searching this forum for information on how I need to tweak my import script to import from an old Runtime App to an upgrade Runtime App. Any constructive help would be realy appreciated. Thanks
March 13, 200817 yr Hi, Have you tried to click on "Log in using:" Account Name and Password on every FP7 that you want to Import the data from? It is under File -> File Option. Try if this works. Click the "Log in using" and entered the Account Name and Password. Then clicked OK. Hope it helps...
