Play sound file with script?

Featured Replies

Hello all, I'm stuck on something. I have a container that has a simple sound file (recorded in filemaker). I can play it by double clicking it the container but I'd like to get it to play by use of script.

It seems like it should be possible but I can't get it to work with a script. Any ideas?

Thanks, William

Hey Comment,

Any way to script insert sound into the container?

What do you mean by "insert sound"? If the field is empty, it will go into recording. If it contains a sound, it will play - same as a manual double-click.

Never Mind. It was that simple.

I have success to play sound with script, but it is no effect after I converted my fm file into runtime application (enable kiosk mode for non-admin account).

Anybody know the reason? How do I resolve this problem?

Better yet, how do you get the sound to play without popping up an external player like Windows Media Player or iTunes? This is really screwing up our application currently in development because we MUST have alert sounds for a barcode scanning function. :)

I have looked everywhere for the solution to this problem and found nothing, and I am gearing up for an event to show off our new software application in 3 days. Any help would be greatly appreciated...anyone know of a plugin or method to do this?
