emailaff Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Hi! I'm new to FM Pro and i'm having a problem that when i try to create a new Portal in my Workflow layout, it suddenly desapears! I make all the necessary connections and relations but when i change from layout mode to browse mode it desapears! Please, help me! I'll be glad! Thanks! :
mr_vodka Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Double check your pen settings (pen pattern, pen width, pen color)
emailaff Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 Unfortunately it does not have anything related to the width of my pen or color. It simply disapears. But thank you very much for your help! I'm still trying, but i think i have done something wrong. Jesus! I can't discover what is that! Please, somebody help me!
emailaff Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 Hey! I think i made it! I don't know how, but it's working! Thank you guys! Thanks a lot!
Rich S Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Rats! I wish you would've posted your solution since I'm having roughly the same problem: I type the text into the portal fields but once the record is committed the text disappears from the portal! Strangely, the child record dutifully records the inputted data so I don't have a clue what's happening. :S
comment Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 You have some mechanism in place that modifies the match field of the child record when it's committed. Maybe a lookup, or a triggered script?
Rich S Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Good suggestion, Comment, but there aren't any look-ups or triggered scripts that rely on the problematic tables. As suggested to me by another developer, I checked the indexing and it appears to function correctly as well. A few of the other portals, that are set up identically to the problematic ones, _do_ work as they're supposed to. I suspect that the file is corrupted since it has endured many a Recover and computer crash; the past has finally caught up with it. :S
comment Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Why don't you make a clone of the file, delete everything (tables, fields, layouts) that has no bearing on the issue, and post it here?
Rich S Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 I'd like to, but the owner of the database said "No dice." C'est la vie...
