Saddletramp Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 I understand you can block a individual field in a record in the table field outline. But, can you leave it open in the table outling and block minipulation in the layout to protect the information in normal data entry, but have it open to editing or adding to in another field? Thanks The Tramp
Ugo DI LUCA Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Hmm... Not sure I understood. You can have the field locked in Browse Mode but accessible through a script Go To Field / Go To Object. But if it's not editable in the field definition, you can't edit it "manually". Though a Set Field [ ] script step could do it. Well, now, is it a correct answer to your question ? :qwery:
Saddletramp Posted May 6, 2008 Author Posted May 6, 2008 don't know yet I will try tomorrow. And let you know but it sounds good. Thanks The Tramp

I know your can block an field in the table, when you create the field Check the "Prohibit modification of value during data entry" on the options button. How can you leave it open on the table when you crate the field, but block modification on the layout. Reason being, I don't want the filed modifiable in the data entry layout but, I want to be able to modify the field in another layout. If I block it at the table I won't be able to modify at all, any place. Thanks The Tramp
