Dashboard causes cursor problem

Does any one know why, or how to solve, that when the cursor is in a FM field, that after Dashboard is invoked the user needs to re-click into the very field that the cursor was and remains in, and where the focus still apparently is, in order to continue typing?

That's not my experience. I'm running OSX 10.4.11 and FM9Av3.

What Version of FileMaker?

What version of OS, i.e. Leopard, Tiger, Panther, or Jaguar

I am using Pro 9 and Pro 9 Adv. with Leopard and all the latest updates. A 2008 MacBook, 4 gig RAM.
