June 18, 200817 yr Hey there. I have a few search layouts I want users to run in Find Mode only; and for the results I created a few layouts that I don’t want my users to use in Find Mode (instead they should stay with Browse Mode, List View). My question is: Is it possible to create a layout or a privilege set so, that users cannot (accidentally) switch to a "forbidden" mode? Thank you for your input, polarpro
June 19, 200817 yr Author Hey John, Thank you for your answer! Making the fields available in Find mode only would prevent my users from trying to key in words where they should not (i.e. in Search layouts Browse mode). However, it doesn't keep them away from accidentally switching to Browse mode and then finding themselves "lost". I guess FM Pro Advanced holds a solution, as there is a way to customize menu bars. Hm. Regards! Mike

June 19, 200817 yr Author Hi Michael, Thanks a lot! I tried it and tested it, and it works fine. In addition, I attached a few steps to my scripts for the cases when the user does not get any results. When this is the case, Filemaker normally allows him to cancel the whole request, which would put him in Browse mode while he still thinks he is on a „pure“ Search layout. Thank you for your advice! Mike :)
