Greg O'Connor Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 This is a totally new area for me: How can FileMaker open and import from a SQL View Table? Any hints into the right direction would be appreciated. Cheers Greg
mr_vodka Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Do you mean using ESS or straight ODBC import? You should be able to reference a view just like you would a table.
Greg O'Connor Posted June 23, 2008 Author Posted June 23, 2008 I need to find out about ESS / ODBC. I will be back when I know. Thanks
elo Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I don't think what you want to do is particularly clear. The PDF Manual included with FileMaker describes the basics of how to do this and for read/import purposes FileMaker cannot tell the difference between a VIEW and a TABLE.
Terrible Toll Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 You can connect to an SQL table using an ODBC driver, such as the one from Actual technologies . It is not all that straight-forward as the documentation is virtually non-existent. But once you have it up and working it seems to work quite well. Anatole
