Jared867 Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Hello, I have made the databases for my company's inventory in FM Pro 8.5 Now I am designing a website for them. I would like to find an easy way to publish our list of inventory on the site for customers from all across the USA to see. I see where I can export records to HTML format but one of my fields is a container which contains an image of each of our items. I really need to have that image with each record. I could always export to HTML then edit the HTML files in Dreamweaver and place the images in it BUT I have over 3000 items. I am really searching for a solution that wont take me a decade to accomplish. Can someone help me please? Oh yeah, we also get about a dozen or so new items a week in. I will have to add those new items on a regular basis... that is another reason I would like to find another solution than having to edit in dreamweaver every time. Thank you, Jared
Jared867 Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 another thing.. I see when I export to HTML it does so in a list/table fashion... is it possible to export in form?
John May - Point In Space Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Why not use FileMaker's Instant Web Publishing, instead of generating static HTML pages? If you don't want to fork out the cash for your own FileMaker Server, hardware, etc. you can always use a hosting service like ours too: http://www.pointinspace.com/ - John
Jared867 Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 no thank you, your prices are too high and your storage space and bandwidth are too low.
Jared867 Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 I really could use a solution to this, if anyone has one. Id really like to know if I can export as a form too rather than list/table.
John May - Point In Space Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Actually, my point was to consider using Instant Web Publishing, not to specifically use our hosting service. That said, our prices and features are competitive with other FileMaker hosting providers, and we have been providing professional FileMaker hosting services for over 10 years. - John
