Hi there,

I have a problem these days. FileMaker 9 crash while executing send mail script step on winxp sp2. Anyone have same problem before??

The rest of the story:

FileMaker 9 Advanced used to running for send mail script.

We uninstall advanced and install FM Pro 9 (Central Europe). After this change problem was started. When FM Pro 9 executing send mail script it crashes.

I have update FM Pro from 9.0v1 to 9.0v3 but problem still occurs.

Finally I tried some examples on a sample file to determine problem exactly. I have created a file with a text field and a script with only send mail step. I configure "to" field to the text field I have created. Rest of fields are empty in send mail step. If I run script when text field is empty, it works. But if I am fill it with any content, FileMaker crashes.

Finally I have unistall and re-install FileMaker Pro 9, result is same. It crashes :

How can I solve this problem??

Thanks

I am having the same trouble now. I had a problem with different programs causing "Application Hang" errors. After running Sybot and the Symantec virus programs to make sure my system was clean, I got one on Filemaker Advanced 9 while trying to perform the Send Mail script step (using Microsoft Outlook to send the mail). I did not have the option to send without dialog checked, so I should have gotten an e-mail message to review. Instead, I had another Application Hang error. This error tied up all my processor capability for 15 minutes (I was away from my desk). I had to end task to get it to stop.

Now, every time I try to use the Send Mail script step, it crashes immediately. Any advice?

My workaround of this problem is:

- create a new button

- use the function Openurl

- write this instruction:

"mailto: [email protected]?subject=Test&body="&"test sending mail " & fieldname & "%0A this text is write on a new line..."

Hey folks,

I had the same problem (FileMaker 9 crashing on a Send mail script step) with several computers running Windows XP. Apparently the cause of the problem was the missing [Mail]-section within the win.ini file.

Adding the following section to my win.ini file did the thing:

[color:red][Mail]

MAPI=1

CMC=1

CMCDLLNAME=mapi.dll

CMCDLLNAME32=mapi32.dll

MAPIX=1

MAPIXVER=1.0.0.1

OLEMessaging=1

With regards,

thanks so much! this worked great!

I had the same problem yet a month ago, it worked. All of a sudden, fmpro kept crashing on launching an email.

Thanks :

We are having a similar issue and I don't know how to resolve it. We recently moved to a new building. What is weird is that this issue never happened in our old building, but now, every time someone calls a script that has a send mail step, it either crashes filemaker at the point that the email is sent from Outlook OR it doesn't crash then, but does crash when we attempt to link the e-mail to our ACT database. Because there are so many applications in play, I don't know where to look. Could it be a setting that got changed when our servers were moved??

Looking at my win.in file has this code okay.. so somehow, yours was missing... Just wondering ?

My win.ini file has the following code:

CMCDLLNAME32=mapi32.dll

CMCDLLNAME=mapi.dll

CMC=1

MAPI=1

MAPIX=1

MAPIXVER=1.0.0.1

OLEMessaging=1

So it's not in the same order as what's listed above, but it appears to be the same. Thoughts?

Issue: during the creation of PDF files on OS X, filemaker becomes unresponsive and then crashes.

Cause: The Adobe font preferences have been corrupted.

Resolution: Navigate to /User/username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/TypeSPT

delete the file AdobeFnt##.lst
